Fix Wheel Noise IssuesUpdated 3 days ago
๐ Problem Description
When riding or pushing the scooter, you may notice:
- Squeaking or metal rubbing noise
- Light scraping sound when the wheel spins
- Noise even when not braking
๐ This issue is usually caused by:
Brake pads being too close to the brake disc, causing friction
๐ ๏ธ Solutions
โ Method 1: Adjust the brake caliper (Recommended)
- Loosen the caliper mounting bolts using a hex wrench
- Hold the brake lever
- Tighten the bolts while holding the brake
- Release and spin the wheel to test
๐ This will automatically center the brake pads
โ Method 2: Adjust brake pad clearance
- Use adjustment screws (if available)
- Increase the gap slightly
โ Method 3: Reset pistons
- Remove the brake caliper
- Gently push the pistons back
- Reinstall and test
โ Method 4: Check brake pad wear
- If brake pads are worn out
๐ Replace them (consumable part)
โ Notes
- Power off before making adjustments
- Test brakes at low speed after adjustment
- Brake pads are consumables and not covered under warranty
- Avoid touching the brake disc directly
